History K–10 Syllabus Vol 1: K–6

This print version of the current History K-10 Syllabus identifies the knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes that NSW primary school students are expected to develop.

Teachers have the flexibility to make decisions about the sequence of learning, the emphasis given to certain content and any adjustments required based on student needs, interests and abilities.

The aim of history in Years K-10 is to stimulate student'sinterest in and enjoyment of the past, to develop a critical understanding of the past and its impact on the present, to develop the critical skills of historical inquiry and to enable students to participate as active, informed and responsible citizens.
